About Your Teacher

Hi! My name is Mrs. Tifft. This is my 12th year teaching at Visitation and my 12th year teaching 4th grade! I attended St. Cletus elementary school and Archbishop Blenk High School, so I know and appreciate the value of a well-rounded Catholic education. Visitation is a wonderful school, and I love being a part of the VOL family. My favorite subject to teach is, of course, math!

I have two beautiful daughters--Rowan & Rori, and I have a wonderful husband named Billy! I enjoy traveling, crafting, shopping, LSU games, the beach, and spending time with my family and friends.

I attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a minor in History. From there, I attended the University of New Orleans, where I completed the post-grad certification program for elementary education.

My educational philosophy is that all children can learn and be successful in their own unique ways. As a teacher, I strive to bring out the best in my students and focus on their strengths, while improving on their weaknesses. I feel that it is my responsibility to make sure that my students achieve their goals both inside and outside of the classroom.

I cannot wait to meet all of my students and their parents very soon. It is going to be a great year filled with lots of learning & fun!

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

-Proverbs 22:6
