About the program (Πρόγραμμα)

The International Economic Development Program (IEDP) presents a unique learning opportunity for a group of 20 students to explore key policy concerns of another country in a hybrid classroom/field research project. Participants study the country's policy context in a classroom setting and work in small groups to research a particular topic before traveling to that country to gain insight from local professionals. This work culminates in a final report that analyzes relevant policy options, constraints, and potential trade-offs in light of the country's political and cultural dynamics.

In 2017, the program is focused on Greece, which has faced significant challenges in the areas of economic policy and refugee policy.

Program participants are responsible for all financial and logistical planning for the trip, and along with the faculty advisor, inform the direction and focus of the academic work. Following are the leaders of IEDP 2017:
