We have been working on a project in class where the students create their own species. They have a packet with the information they have researched to use on the final project, which is a small/half poster. Poster is due Friday, March 21st, 2025. The expectations are:
Create Your Poster
Title: Write "My New Species: [Your Animal's Name]" at the top of your poster.
Drawing (30-40 minutes):
Create a detailed drawing of your animal in the center of the poster.
Color your drawing to show its true appearance.
Habitat (15-20 minutes):
In one corner of the poster, draw and label the habitat where your animal lives.
Explain why this habitat suits your animal.
Adaptations (15-20 minutes):
List and describe at least 2 adaptations your animal has. 1 physical, 1 behavioral
Explain how each adaptation helps the animal survive in its habitat.
Diet (10-15 minutes):
Describe what your animal eats.
Explain how it obtains its food.
Detailed Description (15-20 minutes):
Write a paragraph describing your animal.
Include information about its size, weight, lifespan, behavior, and any other interesting facts.
Review and Finish (10 minutes)
Check that you've included all required elements.
Add any final details or decorations to your poster.
Presentation:
Be prepared to present your new species to the class, explaining its unique features and how it survives in its habitat.
Grading Criteria:
Creativity and originality of the species design
Accuracy and detail in the drawing
Logical connection between the animal's adaptations and its habitat
Clarity and completeness of the written descriptions
Overall presentation and neatness of the poster
