READING TAKES YOU TO THE GREATEST PLACES!!!!

Students will have a weekly language arts skills quiz each Friday. The quiz will include skills from the daily morning work. We are focusing on short responses and Part A, Part B questions.

Reading Counts: 25 points due by March 19th, check with your child to see where they are so they meet the goal and get their 100 points!

All students are required to reach their set reading counts goal every nine weeks in order to get the 100 points credit. 0 if the goal is not met. I will give students class time to read most days, but your child needs to be reading at home every night for at least 20 minutes.

Students should be reading 20 min. or more at home.

**The more they read, the better reader they will be!**

We will take quizzes focusing on skills taught in class following a 'cold read'.

1st-2nd nine weeks: Poetry quiz every Friday. The students should review the poem of the week each night. We mark the skills that will be tested each week. Look for the "key" on your child's poem paper. They will look at an "unmarked" poem to take their quiz. This is why they need to read, re-read, and study the poem's skills.
