What does it cost?

$1.00 total (It's a district requirement for clubs)

Veterans Heritage Project is a club like no other school club.

How to Join:

Just talk to Mr. Swigart (room 505) and tell him you are interested.

What do we Do?

Interview veterans

Write their stories

Video their stories

Preserve their stories with the Library of Congress

Meet some after school

Collaborate with Shadow Mountain VHP students

Publish a book

Participate in the City of Phoenix Veterans Day Parade

When?

Pretty much all year long, but the most intense will be from Sept. though November or December when we are interviewing and writing. We will have meetings after school- days to be determined.

Goal of VHP: Connecting students with veterans.

Shea Middle School was the first middle school in the state (maybe the country). Now there are a couple more middle schools involved.

Why join?

It's the right thing to do. Veterans deserve to be honored and remembered.

You will be preserving history.

There is a magic connection between student and veteran that is sparked.

You will become a published author.
