EVERY NIGHT, your child should be:
organizing his/her supplies. If supplies are missing, please replenish them ASAP. Contact Mrs. Baleshiski if you need help getting required supplies.
deleting what is written in his/her homework Google Doc as assignments are completed.
charging his/her Chromebook.
packing his/her backpack before going to bed, ensuring homework is ready to hand in for the next day and bringing back the charged Chromebook.
EVERY NIGHT, please check homework for completion.
Homework is generally given Monday through Friday. Homework can be graded for completion and/or accuracy. Students are expected to have the assignments completed on time. Late work may be penalized. The penalty varies from class to class.
Our homework assignments are posted daily on our team website on the Homework Calendar. Please note: this in no way takes the place of your child's responsibility for copying daily homework into his/her electronic homework Google Doc. In the upper right hand corner of the calendar, you will see a host of choices (Print, Week, Month, and Agenda). If you click on “Week” or “Agenda”, you will be able to see an expanded view of the information.
EVERY WEEK, please make sure you check PowerSchool with your child.
Please remember averages can fluctuate from day-to-day and week-to-week based on the scores entered.
Please look for comments that go along with assignments and grades. Some teachers utilize this feature. Comments are indicated by a speech bubble next to the assignment.
You can log in with your child’s username and password if needed.
MAKE-UP WORK…
Completion of makeup work is the responsibility of the student. If your child is absent one-two days, s/he should follow the procedures set up by the individual team teachers for retrieving missing work. If your child is absent 3 or more days, you should contact the school nurse at (860) 793-3257. She will notify the team teachers of the extended absence and, in this way, teachers can gather work for your child.
If your child is in school but misses a class, s/he is responsible for following up with the teacher to see what s/he missed that day. S/he should report to his/her class first, if possible, to: check in for attendance, drop off homework from the previous evening, and pick up the necessary materials for the class lesson s/he will miss as well as homework for that night.
