Extra Credit Opportunities

(One assignment of each per Semester)

Attend a sporting event (5 points)

If you attend a high school, college, or professional sports event you may write a paper.  The paper should include who, where, when, who won, why they won, and two things you learned by watching.  Staple the ticket or gate receipt to the paper.  

Write an article review (5 points)

Read an article from an appropriate magazine/website and write a one-page synopsis of the article.  Please include the title of the article, author, and the name of the publication or site.

Exercise with a family member (5 points)

If you perform any kind of aerobic activity with a family member, you may submit a paper.  The paper must include the type of activity, date, time of day, where you did the exercise, who you participated with, how it felt to exercise, and a signature of a parent or guardian.

Write a book report (10 points)

If you read a book about a sport or athlete, you may write a one to two-page explanation of the book for credit.  Before you read a book, check with your instructor to make sure that it is appropriate for physical education.
