Outline Biography

I am a lecturer at Department of Law, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Koya University, Erbil, Iraq, since 2011.

I obtained both degrees of Graduate Diploma in Law GDL/Certificate of Professional Exam (CPE), Birmingham City University in 2017 and 2019. Before that, I obtained PhD degree in Transboundary Water Law and Policy, Dundee University, Scotland, UK in 2010. In 2005, I obtained LLM degree in Petroleum Law and Policy, Dundee University, Scotland, UK. In 2002, I obtained the degree of LLB (Ho) Ahmad Ibrahim Kullyah Of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Selagor, Malaysia. Throughout my studentship and academic life, I held various administrative posts, mainly vice-president of Student Representative Council of IIUM in 2000-2001, Secretary General for Students ADR Society in 2001-2002, IIUM, Present Student Member at DUSA, Dundee University in 2004-2005. Vice President for Dundee University Islamic Society (DUIS) 2005-2006, Dundee University. Treasurer and the then Secretary General for Kurdish Association in Britain from 2006-2010, London, UK.

I have also involved in various consultancy issues, and organised and coordinated a numerous events, seminars and programmes.

Throughout my fifteen years of living away from home, I developed good communication skills whilst studying both in Malaysia and the UK. This further rewarded me with the charisma to enjoy participating in public speaking particularly debating on, lecturing or presenting subjects on the latest issues; mainly concerning water law and policy, then petroleum and environmental law and policy. I am always planning ahead and keep myself physically fit to meet the demands of the work lend support to my team members.

Research Interests I am interested in researches focusing on the application of customary law, national, regional and international laws of water resources, management and policy. At the same time, I am interested both academic and professional works in the fields of oil and gas contracts and Energy policy.
