Meet Mrs. Miller

Meet Mrs. Miller

The Basics: This is my ninth year teaching in a classroom at Congdon Park. Before that I was a Media and Technology Specialist at Lincoln Park K-8 School for sixteen years. I have five kids (four boys and a girl) who are 15 to 25 years old, a rockstar husband, named Steve, and a yellow lab, named Allie.

My Favorites:

Food: Friday Night Fish Fry at local restaurants

Movie: Bug’s Life

Book: Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller (no relation)

Color: Green

Treat: Einstein’s Bagels

Sport: Hockey

Hobbies: reading, sewing, cabin time, kid stuff, dinner and a movie with Mr. Miller.

My Education: I grew up outside of Chicago, moved to Minnesota, graduated from Forest Lake High School, and attended The College of St. Scholastica. I have a Pre-K through Grade 6 Elementary Education Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Educational Media and Technology. I’m a life-long learner, so I’m always learning something new. I will instill this in your children!

In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork and diversity. I value cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom and as I work with my peers. I believe that great things can happen when we work together! Congdon Park is a place where I really feel like part of a strong community and part of a winning team.
