Units

We are using the Read It Once Again (RIOA) curriculum that is based on specific children's literature with a focus on language and literacy foundational skills.  Each month we will read a book that is familiar to children.  This year we are also using Unique Learning Systems (ULS) Get preschool curriculum, which has units of study are based on topics of instruction that align with 4K general education unit topics.

We will do the following units for the 2023-2024 school year:

August: RIOA-Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

September:  RIOA-From Head to Toe

October: RIOA-The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything

                      ULS- Sometimes I'm Glad, Sometimes I'm Mad (Feelings/Self-Regulation)

November: RIOA- Goodnight Moon

December: RIOA-The Gingerbread Man

                            ULS- The Gift of Giving

January: RIOA- Goldilocks and the Three Bears

February:  RIOA- I Love You

                          ULS- My Body (Health)

March: RIOA- The Three Little Pigs

                  ULS- Make-Believe--The Three Little Pigs

April: The Napping House

               ULS- It's Raining, It's Pouring

May: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

                                                                                               

We are also using the Get Set For School by Learning without Tears curriculum, which is a research-based approach addressing different learning styles in a developmental progression, building on what students already know using friendly teaching methods of multisensory lessons and hands-on learning.
