Position Summary

As a media assistant, the student will act as the face of the media center, providing excellent customer service to all students, faculty, staff, and community members using the library. This includes greeting guests and offering assistance in a professional manner.

The media assistant will be responsible for maintaining his or her assigned shelves (fiction and nonfiction), tidying specific areas of the library, assisting the Media staff with various technology-related issues, and other assigned weekly tasks. He or she will complete several literature and technology-based projects throughout the semester, along with larger scale group projects designed to encourage participation in Media Center events.

Media assistants are graded through a series of assessments. As Greenville County Schools requires, students will complete 4+ major and 12+ minor assessments. Major assessments, weighted at 60%, and minor assessments, weighted at 40%, will determine the overall grade.
