Deaf / Hard of Hearing Preschool Program

This is a preschool classroom serving deaf and hard of hearing students. Children in this program are often language delayed as a result of their hearing losses. This program provides a language - rich environment where all activities (math, language/literacy, art, shared reading, etc.) reinforce the vocabulary and targeted language goals of planned thematic units.

The overall goal of this program is to help students improve their language levels (both receptive and expressive) as measured by a language development curriculum. In addition, appropriate, intellectually challenging, learning opportunities are planned to help students meet state and district learner standards in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, physical development, the arts, and personal/social development.
