Blythe Academy of Languages Schoolwide Rules

Our Universal Code of Conduct

On my honor I will show others the respect I would like in return. My behavior will be a good example to follow. I will do my best each day and help others when I can. I promise to obey the Blythe Academy rules.

I will:

Respect Others

Listen Carefully and Follow Directions

Walk Quietly in Line

Keep My Hands and Feet to Myself

Posted in every classroom, this pledge is recited by students each morning during our news show. They also sign this as a Behavioral Contract at the beginning of the year.

Blythe’s Discipline Code

Students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly manner at school at all times.

Classroom rules that address student behavior have been designed to maintain an effective learning environment. When a student’s inappropriate behavior has not been corrected by the teacher’s management plan, the following steps will be taken:

1. The student will compose a note to be taken to his/her parents describing the behavior. This note should be signed by the parent and returned the following day.

2. The teacher will conduct a parent conference.

3. The next two infractions will incur detention, kept in the classroom by the teacher, or time-out in other classrooms during the school day.

4. After two detentions, the teacher will send a referral to the principal for further disciplinary action.

Certain actions warrant immediate referrals to the principal:

When students choose to violate the discipline code, they may be assigned time-out in other classrooms, in-school suspension or out-of-school suspension. Most referrals will result in isolation from peers at school or out-of-school suspension. Each additional referral will mean escalating the consequences for the offense. Some offenses will result in an automatic out-of-school suspension (such as fighting, threatening or hitting an adult or child, or other illegal activities) as outlined in the district discipline code. The suspensions will be for no less than one (1) day or more than ten (10). Consequences are the decision of the principal.

Class Dojo

We will be using Class Dojo this year. You should have received a password to sign in so you can see how your child behaved each day in all their classes.
