School Counseling Program

The counseling curriculum consists of structured activities, primarily through classroom counseling lessons, small groups, and individual counseling to promote positive mental health and student awareness, skill development and its application to everyday life. 

The school counseling program is a comprehensive and developmental program for all students. The mindsets and behaviors taught are from the ASCA (American School Counselor Association) National Model.  The ASCA mindsets and behaviors can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

School Counselor Mindsets and Behaviors Standards

The school counseling program at Welcome Elementary received the American School Counselor Association RAMP award in the spring of 2017.  This national award looks at detailed information about the data driven school counseling program and determines how well it aligns with the ASCA model.
