Jefferson Davis Grand March

Jefferson Davis was appointed as the Confederate President.

However, Abraham Lincoln, who refused to accept the south as a separate country

refused to acknowledge Davis as "President" and almost never even spoke his name.

Near the end of the war, Lincoln addressed a letter to Davis as "To Whom It May Concern."

"Jefferson Davis Grand March" was written to honor him.

The war ended on April 9, 1865 when southern General Robert E. Lee surrendered to northern General U.S Grant. Jefferson Davis refused to surrender until he was captured on May 10. He was imprisoned for 2 years and charged with treason which means trying to start a war against your country but he was never taken to court and convicted.
