Welcome to the home page of the Office of Field and Clinical Experiences at University of Maryland Global Campus! UMGC believes that in order to nurture the highest levels of professionalism in teacher candidates, the candidates must be immersed in the experiences of the PreK-12 schools, both to observe and to teach. Therefore, the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is inherently a clinically-based teacher development program, where the courses in the program underpin the field and clinical experiences in which the teacher candidates participate throughout the program.
Every course in the MAT program has at its core several field experiences. This website is a resource center for teacher candidates/interns, mentor teachers and university field supervisors to help facilitate the field and clinical experiences.
