Kids Activities List - Here is a blog that has an extensive list of educational companies offering free subscriptions due to school closings.

Mental Health Resources

American Academy of Pediatrics: Healthy Children - This site offers basic information and supplies some links to what to do during school closures and how to talk to children about COVID-19.

Coronavirus Children's Book - Download the book and it's available in different languages.

Hey Sigmund - This site offers general information and articles about a wide variety of social-emotional topics.

InsightTimer - This is a free library of online guided meditations for adults and children. There is a free app that you can download.

Managing Stress and Anxiety (CDC) - There are many resources including information for parents and how to help children cope with the COVID-19 outbreak.

Mindful - Face Fear and Keep Going - This article offers suggestions on how to welcome fear and conquer it.

National Association of School Psychologists - This is a good parent resource for how to talk to your kids about COVID-19.

Tara Brach: Working with Fear - Tara combines psychology and spiritual practices and provides resources for coping with fear.

ABCya - This site has PreK-6+ reading, math, holiday, strategy, and skill games. We suggest starting with the kindergarten level games and adjusting grade levels for individual needs and interests.

Active Math Games - This site has many math games that get kids moving while they are learning and having fun.

Boulder Public Library - The library offers online children's options under 'Download and Stream'. Sign in using your library card.

Children's Authors Online Read Alouds and Activities - A variety of authors have online and live read alouds and activities that you might enjoy.

Colorado Department of Education Learning at Home Resources - The CDE website offers a wide range of categories and resources to browse including early childhood education, English language learners, supporting students with disabilities, health, science, social studies, visual and performing arts, math, and reading, writing, and communicating.

Cosmic Kids Yoga (YouTube) - This site provides relaxation and mindfulness activities.

Denver Zoo - This YouTube channel has lots of animal videos and you can also find virtual safari videos.

Educational Games for Kids - To access this Preschool -5th grade site, sign in with Facebook or Google. We suggest starting with the kindergarten level games and adjusting grade levels for individual needs and interests. This site offers a wide variety of literacy, math, coding, and typing games.

Free Kids Books - This site offers unique books that can be read online or downloaded in a PDF format. Some books offer videos. If children are reading independently, we recommend the 'Grade K and Pre K' or the age group 'Age 2-5 Years'.

Free Learning Resources for Home and School: Heifer International - This site offers books and activities in English and Spanish with farm animal themes.

Funbrain - This site has games, reading, math, and educational videos for grades PreK-8th grade.

Garden to Table - This site offers lesson plans and activities for teachers and families plus information about gardening, sustainability, composting, and nutrition.

Go Noodle - This site offers movement and mindfulness videos to get kids and families learning through movement. There are both energizing and calming videos.

Google Arts and Culture - Take a virtual field trip or learn something new about a culture you are curious about.

Hooda Math - This site offers math games for grades kindergarten-high school. Scroll down to find grade levels.

How It's Made (YouTube) - This channel has many videos about how different things are made

International Children's Digital Library - This site offers books in many different languages that can be read online. There is no option to have the books read aloud.

Jack Hartmann Kids Music (YouTube) - Jack Hartmann is a clinical psychologist who works with his wife (a former K teacher) to bring kids lots of fun videos that get kids moving and learning through different reading and math songs.

Kids Activities (for kindergarten) - This blog offers kids activities, crafts, STEM activities, things to do with kids, parenting resources, tips and hacks.

Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems (author/illustrator of Elephant & Piggie books and so much more) - Mo Willems will do a doodle with kids every day at 1pm EST (11am in Colorado). Get your creative juices going along with some lunch!

Math Games - This site offers math games for PreK-8th grade. There is an option to have the question read by the 'robot'.

Movement Mat - This PDF suggests different ways to pretend and move your body.

Mystery Doug - This site shows science videos answering real student questions.

NASA At Home - Be a scientist and explore the universe!

National Geographic Kids (YouTube) - This channel provides lots of opportunities for kids to learn and explore about various science topics ranging from animals to best jobs ever.

PBS Kids - This site has games and videos supporting many content areas - literacy, math, science, social studies, music, art, social/emotional - as well as games that support strategies and skills building. There is a wide range of levels.

PE with Joe - Check out some fun ways to move and stay physically and mentally healthy.

Prodigy - This site offers a wizard game that is read out loud. The site focuses on the practice of math skills. It is for grades 1-6.

Ranger Rick - This site is making all digital editions of their magazines free to the public through the end of June 2020. The site offers games, activities, and videos all about animals and nature.

Resources for Learning at Home - This site has K-5 website and online activities, hands on activities, learning with video and TV, educational apps, and printable activities.

Roald Dahl Official Website - On this site, you will find read alouds, games, and activities.

Scholastic - This site provides daily lessons using fiction and nonfiction books to create learning opportunities for grades PreK-6+. The site provides username and password to set up a free account. The lessons and activities fall within a range of content areas including reading, science, and social studies.

Scientists In Action (Denver Museum of Nature and Science) - These videos show scientists talking about their passions. There are a variety of topics found in the 52 videos. Video lengths range from approximately 3 minutes to 35 minutes.

Squiggle Park - This is a site to help improve reading skills for 3-15+ year-old children.

SplashLearn - This site has K-5 math games. You can sign up for free as families or click on 'Curriculum' on the top of the home page to view games and grade levels. We suggest starting with the kindergarten level games and adjusting grade levels for individual needs and interests.

Starfall - This site has K-3 literacy, math, and music games. Kids can click on the speaker to hear sentences and stories (the computer reads to them) or they can read independently. There are many games that use music to support learning. We suggest starting with the kindergarten level games and adjusting grade levels for individual needs and interests.

Storynory - This is a free audio book site. The texts tend to be longer audio books. Poems, rhymes, and music can be found on this site. Families can also subscribe to Storynory podcasts.

Unite for Literacy - This literacy site allows kids to read many different fiction/narrative and non-fiction/informational books by themselves or they can listen to the books being read to them. There are 43 different languages that can be used for narration. There is even a section about conservation at the Denver Zoo!

Virtual Field Trips - This Google Doc gives links for 30 virtual field trips.

Waterford - This site provides nine virtual field trips for young explorers.

Zoo To You - This is on the Denver Zoo website. Find lots of amazing animal videos and information!
