New Rich Content Editor
The Rich Content Editor will have a new look in January 2021. Teachers can enable the new look now to get used to it, or start using it, by enabling it in course settings. Directions and information about the new look are in the shared presentation below.
Virginia PLN
A course has been added to all teacher accounts in Virginia. It is designed to offer LMS support, professional best practice resources, and a shared space where educators can learn from each other. Feel free to check it out. More information is in the shared presentation below.

Google LTIs
Canvas has extended the life of the Google Cloud LTI until September 2021 because of its SpeedGrader integration. The newer Google LTI (1.3) is NOT reaching end of life.
Canvas Landing Pages
A few weeks ago, we added a Canvas Landing Page. This should make accessing Canvas easier for students and parents.

Virtual Virginia Content Release
Below is an email from Virtual Virginia regarding content release for Virtual Virginia Courses that I received yesterday. Most courses should be available now. Hopefully the remainder will be loaded over the weekend.
The next set of resources for K-2 and 7-8, are currently available for update. The 2nd quarter materials are being pushed out this week in the original course shells as an "Update." They can be synced automatically by doing the following:
To get the update, login to Canvas and click on the Commons icon in the global navigation menu.
When an update is ready, you will see a notification in Commons under the "Updates" tab.
Click on the update to permit it to sync with your course.
If you made changes to any pages (e.g. Home Page) we recommend that you rename the page so that it does not get overwritten.
Grades 3-6 are going through Quality Assurance final revisions right now, and will be ready later this week.
Droid Device Errors
Users trying to access Canvas with Droid devices (phones and tablets) are encountering errors. Canvas is aware of the problem and they are working on it.
We are working on an alternative way to access Canvas and will let you know when we have it ready.

-ICEV (for CTE teachers)
-World Book
-EmediaVA
We have also turned on a feature that places a history button in the Global Navigation Menu.
Sept 8
BCPS Technology will be offering a Grow With Canvas Course for 30 PD points. This course will be available beginning 9/8/2020. The course will conclude on December 31, 2020. Teachers can join the self-paced course at any time. However, all coursework must be complete by December 31, 2020 in order to receive the points. I will be facilitating the course.
