Alta Gala History
The Alta Gala is a collaborative fundraiser for Alta Community Enrichment, Friends of Alta & Alta Historical Society. The goal is not only to raise money but to raise awareness of these three 501c3 nonprofits in Alta, Utah. The first Alta Gala was held in 2007 at Our Lady of the Snows, we then moved to the Alta Peruvian Lodge for one year, in 2009 we moved to LaCaille Restaurant to host this event. The Alta Gala is now historically held the first Friday of April each year at LaCaille. The gala is a festive, energy filled evening with great food, drinks, dancing, and music.
Alta Gala 2024
The 18th annual Gala was held at The Snowpine Lodge.
Alta Gala 2023
The 17th annual Gala was held at The Snowpine Lodge. Tickets sold out in 19 minutes. In 2023, we raised just over $50,000 for the three nonprofits. A record event.
Alta Gala 2022
The 16th annual Gala was held at The Snowpine Lodge. We could only do the gala this year with the support of our community. In 2022, we raised just over $18,000.
Alta Gala 2020 & 2021
The 14th and 15th annual Alta Gala's were canceled due to the novel coronavirus. In 2020 we were still able to raise $16,000 from our opportunity drawing, in 2021 we raised just over $9,000. The 2020 Stellar Award was awarded to Scott "Scottman" Eilber.

The 13th annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised about $26,000 for the three non-profits. The 2019 Stellar Award recipient was Roger and Margaret Bourke. PHOTOS
Alta Gala 2018
The 12th annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised over $30,000 for the three non-profits. The 2018 Stellar Award recipient was Paul Lippert.
Alta Gala 2017
The 11th annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised $27,000 for the three non-profits. The 2017 Stellar Award recipient was Trainer Mahon.
Alta Gala 2016
The 10th annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised $27,000 for the three non-profits. The 2016 Stellar Award recipient was Dr. Ken Libre.
Alta Gala 2015
The ninth annual Alta Gala was held again at LaCaille Restaurant and raised almost $22,000 for the three non-profits. The 2015 Stellar Award Recipient was Elfreida Shane of Goldminer's Daughter Lodge. This was our inaugural year for our online silent auction.
Dancing, mingling and fun was had by all in the lovely setting of LaCaille with beautiful spring weather for the evening.
Alta Gala 2014
The eighth annual Alta Gala was held again at LaCaille Restaurant and raised almost $20,000 for the three non-profits. The 2014 Stellar Award Recipient was Mayor Tom Pollard.
Dancing, mingling and fun was had by all in the lovely setting of LaCaille with beautiful spring weather for the evening.
Alta Gala 2013
The seventh annual Alta Gala was held again at LaCaille Restaurant and raised funds for the three non-profits. The 2013 Stellar Award Recipient was Connie Marshall.

Alta Gala 2012
The sixth annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised about $26,700 for the three non-profits. The 2012 Stellar Award Recipients were Jaeann Tschiffely & John Guldner.
Music, mingling and fun were had by all in the lovely setting of LaCaille.
Alta Gala 2011
The fifth annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised about $36,000 for the three non-profits. The 2011 Stellar Award went to Alan Engen for many years and service in Alta.
Yet again, great music, food and dancing was had by all. And again snow fell that night (storm total near 40 inches) and everyone enjoyed deep powder snow the next day.
Alta Gala 2010
The fourth annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised a total of $30,000 for the three non-profits. The 2010 Stellar Award went to Titus Case (Alta Ski Area), Liam Fitzgerald (UDOT), and Al Soucie (US Forest Service) for their years of snow safety in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Music, food and dancing was had by all. Tons of snow fell that night and everyone enjoyed some amazing deep powder snow the next day (Easter Sunday!).
Alta Gala 2009
The third annual Alta Gala was held at LaCaille Restaurant and raised a total of $28,000 for the three non-profits. The 2009 saluted Alta Ski Lifts 70th Anniversary and the Gala committee honored Bill Levitt for his years of dedication to these three non-profits, thank you Bill. Great food and lots of dancing was had. Thank you to all who attended and supported the event.
Alta Gala 2008
Held on March 29th at the Alta Peruvian Lodge, raising a total just over $19,000 for the three non-profits. The attendees enjoyed live jazz, dancing, martinis and a wonderful silent auction. Food was created by Just Me Catering, Julie Keller, the chef donated her time. Special thank you to our 6 piece live jazz esemble, to Scott Zenko for being a great emcee, to volunteers who served the food, poured the drinks and shook the martinis.
Alta Gala 2007
Our inaugural Gala was held at Our Lady of the Snows, raising $9,000 for the three non-profits. Live music, great food by POMO2GO, great weather made for a wonderful first Alta Gala.
