advising information

Allegheny students are expected to know and understand all College policies as described in the Catalogue, including academic regulations and graduation requirements. Above all, you should not overlook the many deadlines that one needs to meet for an on-time graduation.

Also, all students must get their advisor's approval to register. If you are a Murphree advisee, approval will be given only after certain criteria are met. For more information, please click on the appropriate link below.

The College requires that a major and minor be declared before one can register for third-year classes. However, if you are contemplating a particular major or minor before that time, you should initiate discussions with faculty members in that department to make yourself aware of the best way to structure your curriculum.

Self-designed majors and minors are allowed, but there are guidelines that must be followed, and the appropriate paperwork must be submitted to the Registrar's Office.
