The user can start a payment plan and make credit card payments using the payment feature. Payments made using credit cards can be cancelled, and payments made with cash or checks can also be recorded in athenaNet. Additionally, payments made using credit cards but not via athenahealth's Credit Card Plus (CCP) can be noted as having been paid; nonetheless, we strongly advise doing so (together with /collectpayment).

Latest Payment

Partners can record payments made with cash, checks, or credit cards that weren't processed via athenahealth's Credit Card Plus (CCP) service by using the POST /patients/patientid>/recordpayment call.

Use this feature judiciously if you are using athenaNet to scan the check at the front desk, using CCP to make a credit card payment inside of athenaNet, or using the API's POST /patients/patientid/collectpayment to make a payment. Due to this, payments will be doubly counted.

When you visit, click the sign-up link which is located just below the Log in with athenahealth icon. You can create your athenahealth account there by clicking here, which will take you to the registration page.

If you're having difficulty finding the patient portal link on your provider's website, you can call their office and ask for the correct URL or a welcome email to their patient portal.
