It is recommended that you connect your Netgear AC1200 to the main router or modem before configuring the router. When tapping into the port, make sure that the port turns green as a bright signal. You may need to wait a few seconds for the Netgear AC1200 to start, if you cannot see the strong green light on the router.

NETGEAR Extender Setup: Manual Method.

  • In order to use a cordless router to link a wireless network, any wireless-enabled device must be connected.

  • Use your mobile, cellular phone, or tablet to change your internet settings.

  • The open Netgear Ext network is available in the list of available networks.

  • Use the NETGEAR Extender to link to the router's web address, then open a web browser.

  • You can use the text "mywifiext.net" or "192.168.1.250" to view your Router login code

  • When you select New Configuration or Netgear Setup from the View Menu, a new window will appear on your computer.

  • Please enter all of your required information to proceed with linking your device to your network.

  • Once the configuration process is complete, all four green strong lights should be present on your extender. Never should you be without four or more interior lights on your extension cord.
