Meeting High School Requirements
Check with your high school counselor to see which PSEO courses YOUR high school will accept for each graduation requirement.
High School Credit Transfer Policies
Your coursework and grades from the University will appear on your high school transcript and will count toward your high school graduation requirements.
The PSEO statute stipulates that grade reporting to high schools is the responsibility of the student. However, as a courtesy, the PSEO Office sends out an enrollment report to your high school during the third week of the semester to indicate your current semester schedule. Additionally, at the end of the semester, the PSEO Office sends your final grades to your high schools once they have been submitted by U of M Twin Cities instructors; typically a week and a half after the last day of final exams. Unfortunately, since grades are not all posted at once, we may send out grade reports before late grades are posted. If you have a missing grade, you may have to provide your high school with a transcript.
Your high school will accept all of your University credits, but they have the ultimate say in how those credits will apply to your high school requirements. You must confirm with your high school counselor that the courses for which you are registered at the University fill your high school graduation requirements. We recommend that you get an updated balance sheet each semester for your records.
It is critical that you review your course selections with your high school counselor prior to the beginning of each semester in order to ensure you are fulfilling the graduation requirements for your high school.
Most high schools require a 4 credit course to complete a high school graduation requirement. The Minnesota Department of Education has indicated that a 4 credit semester college course is equivalent to one year of a high school requirement. PSEO students should always check with their high school counselors.
