Grade transfer: Your coursework and grades from the University will appear on your high school transcript and will count toward your high school graduation requirements.
Credit equivalency: One 4 credit college course is equivalent to one year of a high school requirement.
Check with your high school counselor about how your own school
Filling high school graduation requirements: Our common courses guides show how many high schools commonly use PSEO courses towards their requirements, but each high school is has different requirements and interpretations.
Course withdrawal: Withdrawing from a U of M class after the initial drop deadline leaves a "W" on your transcript. Many high schools are okay with this and just mark it neutrally on your high school transcript, but some (Osseo High School, for example) mark it as an "F" on their transcript.
There are many topics your high school counselors will be the best resources for rather than PSEO advisors. A few examples:
Schedule conflicts: Most high school activities are not excused absences. Sometimes your college instructor may grant you flexibility, but not always. Check with your high school coach or teacher to see if they can grant you flexibility on their end (such as making up work or missing a day).
College search process and recommendation letters: High school counselors can guide you through the college search process, scholarships, and may need to write a college recommendation letter.
Important high school announcements: Your high school will notify you of updates around graduation, prom, and more!
The PSEO office sends regular reports out twice per year:
Week 3 of each semester: Enrollment report with your current semester schedule.
A few weeks after the semester ends: Final semester grade report. If grades are missing when we submit those reports, you can send them an updated unofficial transcript later or request an updated grade report be sent from pseo@umn.edu.
Before the semester starts, some high schools may ask you to send your courses or schedule yourself. Here are a two ways to do this:
Send an unofficial transcript from MyU. This will show your registered courses for the coming semester, though not a schedule.
Get a screenshot of your weekly schedule:
Go to MyU
Go to the "Academics" tab.
On the "My Classes" screen, move the weekly schedule ahead to show the second week of the semester. (The first week has no Monday classes, so the second week schedule will be more representative of the semester.)
Take a screenshot!
