University Honors Program (UHP)
University Honors Program (UHP)
The University Honors Program (UHP) provides students with a small cohort learning community, honors courses and experiences, and individual advising. A student must be a part of the University Honors Program in order to graduate from the U of M with Latin honors.
If you plan to graduate early from the U of MN and are invited to UHP, check with them to see if there is enough time before you graduate to complete the honors experience requirements.
Admission
Every freshman that applies to the U of M is evaluated for admission to UHP. Invitations to join are sent to the most competitive applicants from each college by the end of March of their senior year.
Students that aren't admitted through the freshman invitation can apply the following year.
Academics
Seats in honors courses are reserved for students admitted into the University Honors Program (UHP). Rarely, PSEO students may request permission into these courses on a space-available basis.
PSEO students must follow a PSEO-specific procedure to access an honors course. Complete the Request to Enroll in an Honors Course form to begin the process. DO NOT contact the instructor or department for permission.
Note: PSEO students are not allowed in HSEM-designated courses; no exceptions.
