I/O Scholarship

Scholarship Provided Through The Summit

Announcement: There will be 10 Scholarships given as a result of the summit to support future scholars and practitioners in our field. Applications open on June 20th, 2023, and will close on July  25th, 2023. Awards will be announced on August 10th, 2023. 

*All documentation must be submitted online by the applicant and must be either a Word document or a .pdf file.

Criterion:
Each applicant must be currently in their graduate program or starting their program in the Fall 2023 semester.
Must send an unofficial transcript or acceptance letter must be provided.
Must Submit a  Curriculum Vitae that includes work assignments, paid or unpaid, related to I-O psychology.
Must submit Letters of support (at least 1 and not more than 3) from the program director or faculty member of your program confirming your program,
Must submit the necessary essay for the scholarship. 
*If an applicant applies for multiple scholarships, they will only be awarded one scholarship. 



First Generation I-O Masters Students Matter Scholarship

We recognize the strength it takes to charter unfamiliar territory by being the first in your family to pursue education. This Scholarship is for a first-generation I/O graduate student that is currently pursuing a Masters in I/O Psychology.

For the Scholarship essay, write a 2-page essay on your passions within the field, your story as being a first gen student, and how you plan to change the world with I/O Psychology. 


First Generation I-O Ph.D. Students Matter Scholarship

We recognize the strength it takes to charter unfamiliar territory by being the first in your family to pursue education. This Scholarship is for a first-generation I/O graduate student that is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in I/O Psychology. For the Scholarship essay, write a 2-page essay on your passions within the field, your story as a first gen student, and how you plan to change the world with I/O Psychology. 


Single Parent I-Os Matter Scholarship

We recognize that some I/O students must not only learn the materials in the program, but must also be caretakers through the process. We want to recognize the strength it takes to take care of your household and pursue an education to improve not only your life but the lives of your children. We thank you for your strength and celebrate you with this scholarship. For the Scholarship essay, write a 2-page essay on your passions within the field, your story as a single parent student, and how you plan to change the world with I/O Psychology. 

There will be 2 scholarship recipients. This Scholarship is for an I/O that is currently a single parent that is en route to obtaining a Masters degree, and a 

scholarship for an I/O that is currently a single parent that is en route to obtaining a Ph.D. degree. 


2- Trail Blazing I/O Scholarship

As a society, we tend to ideate about the world becoming a better place, but every so often, there arises a trailblazer that molds their vision to impact their environment. A quote from a phenomenal I/O Psychologist "we are just average dudes making an impact." This scholarship is to assist two I/O students in impacting the world. For the Scholarship essay, write a 2-page essay on your passions within the field, your story and vision for your future, and how you plan to change the world with I/O Psychology. 

 

2- Black Excellence in I/O Scholarship

The Academic I-O is a black-owned business that wants to provide two scholarships to black students. This scholarship is meant to highlight black excellence in the field and to encourage black students to continue to thrive and excel in their I/O programs. For the Scholarship essay, write a 2-page essay on your passions within the field, your story of Black Excellence, and how you plan to change the world with I/O Psychology. 



2- The Academic I/O Scholarship

The Academic I/O was an organization founded to build the bridge for I-O Psychology and Educational Institutions to co-create a new equitable environment for academia. This Scholarship is for an I-O student looking to become a practitioner in the academic setting and make effective changes through research and practice. Write an essay stating how you would want to impact academia through I-O Psychology. For the Scholarship essay, write a 2-page essay on your passions within the field, your story, and how you plan to change the world of academia with I/O Psychology.
