Something Just Happened: A Portrait of the Sausalito Marin City's Second School Desegregation
Mission of the project
This project is centered on capturing the desegregation experience of students, parents, and faculty. With your testimony, we will create a book and digital archive that reflects the accomplishments of the community in unifying the school district. The inspiration for this project comes from the 1968 photo essay titled, Something That's Happening: A Portrait of the Sausalito School District, which serves as the only source of pictures from the historic desegregation plan during the 1960s. Your submissions might be included in the new photo essay book being created, or on the companion website to the book. To learn more about the original book, and see the latest on the effort to republish it, click here or visit the History page.
What You Can Do
We need your help collecting and sharing the experience of living through desegregation. While there is an effort to film and observe classes on both campuses, your submission of audio, video, text, or images that you want to share will be central to the book and website in accurately representing what your experience has been.
Below you will find a form for a legal release for the filming on campus and your submission on this site. At the end of the Google Form you can upload your submission.
