Radio

What is Radio?

Radio is a mini broadcasting event in Speech and Debate. You can use different tones and voices to create characters to put in your script. I really enjoy Radio because it is a low pressure event that you can have a ton of fun with. It also gives me a chance to talk about events that are undercovered by the mainstream media.

What's the format like?

You write a script by gathering information about news and events going on in the world from different news sites. In this script, you have to have a piece of news from anywhere in the world, a piece from the United States, and a local piece of news. You should also have the weather and a sports segment. In addition, if you would like you could have a commercial or a piece about a topic that you are interested in then you can also include that.
