SCHOOL DISMISSAL MANAGER (SDM)
School dismissal starts at 2:45 pm. To ensure that are students stay safe, we are using School Dismissal Manager to manage our dismissal.
ACTION ITEM: ALL PARENTS MUST ACTIVATE THEIR SDM ACCOUNT
Parents need to activate their account to ensure that they can manage how their student gets home, make transportation changes, and check in at the car line.
Log in using the Username and Password that were included in the ‘‘Cox Elementary School Parent Credentials & Login Instructions for School Dismissal Manager" email:
Username - the email you have listed in HAC
Password - use the initial one given to you and change it once you log in
NOTE: If you are new to Cox Elementary, you will receive an email from School Dismissal Manager the day after you register.
These Step-by-Step Directions will walk you through the process.
ALL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES MUST BE MADE IN SDM
Parents will no longer call the school to make transportation changes. ALL transportation changes must be made in the School Dismissal Manager (SDM) system.
The cut-off time to make transportation changes for the day is 1:15 pm (10:00 am during our end-of-semester early release days).
Follow these directions to make a transportation change.
CAR RIDERS
The biggest change this year is that our car riders are staying in their classroom until the parent arrives to pick them up. This ensures that they are in the building safe.
When a parent arrives to pick up their student they will scan a QR code using the School Dismissal Manager app. Once scanned they will click on the check-in button and proceed to the front of the line. Check-in via the QR code begins at 2:30 pm, however, students are not dismissed from their classroom until 2:45 pm.
Parents must stay in their cars to pick up their student(s) in the car rider line.

WALKERS & BIKE RIDERS
At 2:45 pm, teachers will dismiss all students coded as walkers in School Dismissal Manager. Staff members will accompany these students to the two walker locations.
In SDM, parents must designate the correct location: Walker - Front of Building (Camden Apartments) or Walker - Bike Racks (Forest Oaks neighborhood)
UPDATE 2/22/24: SDM has 4 Walker options now, please choose the one that best fits your needs to meet your student. Choices are: Walker (Escorted)-Bike Rack, Walker (Escorted)-Front of Building, Walker (Independent)-Bike Rack, and Walker (Independent)-Front of Building. If you choose Independent and your 1st grader has a sibling, they will wait for their sibling on the wall to pick them up before exiting the building. If you choose Walker (Escorted), we will send your child out after you check in via the QR code that is posted.
BUS RIDERS
At 2:45 pm, teachers will dismiss all students coded as bus riders in School Dismissal Manager. Staff members will accompany these students down to the buses.
If your child will be riding the school bus, please confirm the bus stop and route number, you can find the information at https://bit.ly/3rZ1ZuY. Parents and guardians of new enrollees will need to register their bus riders to the SMART Tag Parent Portal at https://parent.smart-tag.net/%40leanderisd.
To complete the registration, you will need the following:
The campus name of your child
Your child’s student ID number
Your child’s date of birth
DAYCARE VANS
At 2:45 pm, teachers will dismiss all students coded to ride a Daycare van. A staff member will accompany them to the cafeteria and wait with them until they get in the van.
YMCA - AFTER SCHOOL ON THE PREMISES
At 2:45 pm, teachers will dismiss all students coded as YMCA and a staff member will accompany them to the cafeteria. YMCA is not affiliated with Cox Elementary. You must coordinate everything with them.
