Foundational Reading Skills
Demonstrates and applies 4th 9 weeks phonics skills when reading
* Decodes words with long vowels (VCe and vowel teams)
Reading Comprehension
Identifies the central idea and supporting evidence of informational texts (with adult assistance).
Discusses rhyme, rhythm, repetition, and alliteration in texts.
Responds to a variety of texts by using text evidence to support understanding.
Writing
Develops and follows a plan for writing information about a topic of interest.
Writes and revises pieces of writing, choosing the genre to communicate ideas.
Revises and edits drafts using grade-appropriate grammar and conventions.
Math
Uses objects, pictures, and expanded and standard form to represent numbers up to 120.
Counts forward and backward from any given number up to 120.
Science
Compares and describes the components of soil by size, texture, and color.
Demonstrates and observes that air is all around us, such as wind.
Records weather data and objects in the sky using pictures, numbers, and words.
Social Studies
Identifies examples of goods and services in the home, school, and community and the ways in which people exchange for them.
Explains and provides examples of the condition of not being able to have all the goods and services one wants.
Identifies individuals who created or invented new technology and understands how technology affects daily life, past and present.
