Schoology Information for Parents
What is Schoology?
Schoology is an online learning management system that will be used by HHS teachers to post their classroom materials, teach virtually, allow classroom discussion and collaboration, and stay connected with students and parents. A Schoology Parent Account allows parents to see upcoming assignments, announcements, and grades. Schoology makes it easy for parents to stay involved in their children’s education.
Simple Steps To Get Started:
Register with Schoology!
Go to Schoology.com
Click Sign-Up
Enter your Parent Access Code
Enter your account information
Click Register
Login by going to app.schoology.com/login
Add additional children by clicking on the down-facing arrow by your name and selecting Add Child. Then enter additional parent access codes for each of your children.
Set Up Your Notifications
Set your notification preferences by clicking Settings.
In the Notifications tab, set your preferences for email notifications.
There are two types of automated email notifications:
Parent Email Digest
Overdue Submissions Email
Parent View/Student View
Your Schoology Parent account functions like having two accounts.
Your personal account contains your name and information
Your Child Activity view allows you to see what your child sees when he/she is in Schoology and receive updates about his/her activity.
Switch between the parent account and the child activity view by clicking on the arrow in the upper-right corner. Select your child’s name to switch into the child activity view. The check mark indicates which account is being viewed.
Help Your Student Get Started and Stay Connected
You can help your student be ready for the first day of school by making sure he/she can log into Schoology.
Go to the Humble ISD or Humble High School Webpage
Click on Students in the top right of the home page.
Click on MyHumble - if your student does not remember his/her username or password, please contact the school. Generally, the username is the first three letters of the first name, the first three letters of the last name, and the last four digits of the student ID.
Example #1 - Terrance Washington (ID# 5456798) - terwas6798
Example #2 - Kailey Bostick (ID# 4567980) - kaibos7980
Once your student has signed into MyHumble, click on the Schoology Icon.

You can help your students stay connected and on track with their online classwork by:
encouraging a daily schedule.
communicating with teachers often.
supporting students with meeting their deadlines.
supporting students in maintaining systems for organization.
