The Center for the Study of Learning is conducting a research project supported by the National Institutes of Health and by the National Science Foundation. If your child does not struggle with learning, he/she might be able to participate in the program.

- Children must be brought to Georgetown University by a parent for pencil and paper testing and non-invasive MRI brain scans.
Why?

- Your family will make a valuable contribution to research.
- Children who are enrolled in the study will receive a professional assessment of their reading and math skills and will be provided with gifts, gift cards, and pictures of their brain for their participation.
Where?

- The testing and non-invasive MRI brain scans take place at the Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington D.C.
- Testing is scheduled at your convenience.
Can your child participate?
Can your child participate?
- To determine eligibility, we will (i) conduct a phone call to obtain information on your child’s medical history and (ii) test your child at Georgetown University on reading, math, and IQ.
- Eligibility is based on several factors, including:
- aged between 8 and 12 years
- no metal in body
- no history of neurological or psychiatric disease
- no learning disabilities

Compensation and Reimbursement
Compensation and Reimbursement
- Your child will receive a small gift and a gift card at every testing session at Georgetown University.
- You will be provided with the results of your reading evaluation and related measures.
- All travel to Georgetown University Medical Center from the DC metro area will be reimbursed.
