Mr. Hansmann

Hello my name is Rob Hansmann and I am one of two Physical Educators here at Sato Elementary school. My passion for education started from a very young age as my Mother taught in the Beaverton School District for over 20 years. I earned my bachelors degree at Oregon State University in Exercise Sport Science. I then went on to earn my Masters Degree in Science with an endorsement in Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education also at OSU. I have been teaching Physical Education in the district since 2014. I spent 3 years at Beaver Acres Elementary, then was fortunate enough to open Sato Elementary School in 2017. Both my Wife and my Sister are educators in Beaverton. My Wife is also a Physical Educator at Hiteon Elementary and my Sister teaches 3rd grade a Beaver Acres Elementary.

Growing up I enjoyed playing Soccer and Baseball through High School and ultimately, it was these experiences that lead me to Physical Education as a profession. I value physical activity for its role in helping individuals live long, healthy and fulfilled lives. I have seen the impact physical activity has on children and their development as a whole person. Not just the physical aspects, but also the mental, psychological and social benefits sport and physical activity can provide. My goal as a physical educator is to empower students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that lead to participation in a variety of lifetime physical activities and regular exercise with the purpose of enhancing one's health.

These days I enjoy:

  • Spending time with my Wife Kristina and my dog Hazelnut
  • Camping with my friends
  • Backpacking in the mountains
  • Coaching Boys JV2 Soccer at Mountainside High School
  • Golfing
  • Bowling
  • Downhill Skiing
  • Snowshoeing
  • Disc Golfing
  • Photography
  • Playing Futsol
  • Exercising
  • Watching the Beavers, Blazers and Timbers
  • Not cheering for the Ducks
