This information session, led by a Study Abroad Student Recruiter, covers all the basic information on program types, eligibility, housing, finances, searching for and choosing a program and the application process.
School of social work travel abroad Opportunities
Fall
Fall Break on the Border is a service learning opportunity in Agua Prieta, Mexico along the southern border of the United States. Participants will learn about the life experiences of asylum seekers in the borderlands as well as volunteer at different social service agencies in the region. The cost to participate is $450. Spring
Come join us in Sonora, Mexico over Spring Break 2023 for a service learning opportunity of a lifetime! You will be exposed to Sonoran culture and social services in this region. In partnership with the University of Sonora, the program will include participation in workshops addressing a variety of contemporary social justice topics, visits to local community programs and tours of local museums. In addition, you will engage in dialogue with students and faculty from the University of Sonora (UNISON). For our service project, we will visit local community agencies where we will be immersed in the true culture, history and people of the region.
