Academic Advising

During the advising session, the student and the academic advisor review the student's progress through the program, discuss course pre-requisites, and develop an academic plan for completion of degree requirements. The advising session is also utilized to inform students of deadlines and to explain the petition process in case a student wants to request a curriculum variance.

Academic advising appointments are for students who have been admitted into the MSW program and have registered for their first semester of classes.

• New MSW students must complete Canvas academic advising orientation prior to having their registration hold cleared.

• Continuing MSW students are not required to schedule an appointment with their academic advisor prior to course registration. Mandatory advising holds have been removed.

• Please schedule your appointment at a time when you have internet and computer access.
