Equipment Recommendation for Players

At games shirts are provided by the academy. At training we recommend the following attire (at your cost):

• Required Protection:  mouth guard

• Rugby Shirts

• Rugby Shorts

• Socks

• Cleats (non metallic as not allowed in training fields)

• Optional Protection:  head gear, pads, etc.

Customizable Training Kit:

Periodically we order customizable Zurich Rugby Academy merchandise from our partner Decathlon (playing shirt, sweaters, polos).  This orders are done through a webshop for playing/training shirts and shorts orders again.: https://forms.gle/yeuWV6siGwrKKGVo9

We usually also carry stock (shirts, shorts, socks) in our storage.

There is different rugby equipment that can interest you in the Decathlon website. 

• Mouthguards: obligatory for training and games

• Shoes (Remember: no metal studs allowed in training!)

• Winter clothing, synthetic grass clothing

  • In winter we train outdoors on synthetic grass, to prevent scratches make sure you have the right equipment.

• Balls

  • Size 5 for age groups U16, U19 

  • Size 4 for age groups  U14, U12, U10

  • Size 3 for age groups  U8, U6

• Scrum caps

  • These can protect from superficial cuts and abrasions but not from concussions
