fourth Grade

Welcome to fourth grade!

Hello and welcome! I am excited to see all the great things we'll get to do together this year - it will be filled with learning, fun, and new challenges. I am excited to not only share my passion for teaching with you all, I'm also excited to share my love of our Lord and Savior with you as well. My faith is very important to me and I am so lucky that I get to teach at Zion where I am able to openly talk about God every single day!

Weekly updates to the website will provide you with a list of assignments, upcoming events, announcements, and the goings on in our classroom!

I am looking forward to the year ahead!

Cheerfully in Christ,

Ms. Root

School Theme &
Bible Verse

Let God Guide You

I think many of us can be focused on ourselves and our ability to be strong and courageous, which may not be enough at times. That's what I love about our school theme and verse! It's not about how strong or courageous WE can be, but it's focused on how strong and courageous GOD can be! No matter the situation, we can always lean on God's strength and courage.

Our theme verse for the year comes from Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

About me

Hello! My name is Ms. Root and I am your child's fourth grade teacher! I first realized I wanted to be a teacher my senior year of high school. I love helping my students to have their "aha" moment and seeing the joy in their faces when they understand a difficult concept or solve a challenging problem. I student taught here at Zion in October 2017 with Mrs. Tordil and loved the community! From there, I moved to Kent, Washington where I taught a 3rd and 4th grade combo. When I'm not at school - I enjoy eating delicious food, reading, listening to music, baking, taking SoulCycle classes, and spending time with my beloved friends and family! I can't wait to learn more about you this year!
