Zero Day Technologies Ltd ('Zero Day') is the UK company through which Dr Laurence E. Day undertakes independent software development, technical research, consulting and public speaking. The company also serves as the long-term home for selected software products, research initiatives, strategic investments and related intellectual property.

Laurence is a UK-based software engineer specialising in functional programming, financial mathematics and the development of Ethereum at both the client and application layers. He also accepts selected speaking engagements within academia and industry, particularly on Ethereum, decentralised systems, cryptoeconomics and the intersection of technology, regulation and public policy.
His educational and professional background spans first-class UK undergraduate degrees in both mathematics and law, an American master's degree in financial engineering, a UK doctorate in computer science focused on data structures closely related to those used by the Ethereum Virtual Machine, and four years working in risk reporting and financial model analytics at a major global bank. This interdisciplinary perspective allows him to operate comfortably across technical, financial, commercial and regulatory questions surrounding blockchain systems and digital assets, and has led to invitations to advise organisations, speak publicly on Ethereum and, on occasion, provide independent expert evidence in legal proceedings involving digital assets.
Since late 2017, he has contributed—both publicly and anonymously—to Ethereum software, protocols and research, including projects such as hevm, Seaport, Indexed Finance and the Wildcat Protocol, alongside a wide range of other experimental and production systems primarily across decentralised finance. He is an award-winning technical explainer and an experienced Solidity developer with a focus on rapidly turning technical, economic and protocol-design ideas into working proofs of concept.
