uk-based ethereum consultancy services

Zero Day Technologies Ltd is the UK corporate presence of Dr Laurence E. Day, a UK-based software developer specialising in functional programming, financial mathematics and development of the Ethereum network at both the client and application layers. I've also started accepting engagements to speak within the contexts of academia and industry on public policy on Ethereum-related topics.

Over the course of a UK doctorate in computer science focusing on data structures very similar to those of the EVM, four years working in risk reporting and financial model analytics at a major global bank, a masters degree in financial engineering, an ongoing UK law degree, and contributions to Ethereum tools and protocols such as the hevm, Seaport, Indexed Finance and a whole host of other things I have worked on anonymously since late 2017, it's safe to say that I'm a big believer in decentralised finance and its promise.

If you're after more on the credentials behind the man, have a look at my LinkedIn page.

I've been at ground zero - either involved, commentating or actively educating - for pretty much all major developments throughout the birth and rise of DeFi (and Ethereum on the whole). I'm an award winning technical explainer, and an efficient Solidity developer capable of quickly producing proofs of concept.

If you're looking for a friendly, no-frills consultant to engage with to discuss ideas or research directions, by all means shoot me an email - I'm always happy to set aside an hour to talk and see how I can help you - if the work's interesting enough, you can contract me, or I can put you in touch with the people you need.

I'm currently particularly interested in the ways in which the legal system merges with the rise of digital assets. I'll happily clear a schedule for those working on projects that allow for undercollateralised fixed-rate lending with off-chain legal agreements, and more generally the concept of how legal contracts can be formed between parties unknown to each other within the constraints of a smart contract.
