5 Months, 5 Topics for YCP's Volunteers

At this year's YCP Leadership Conference in Cleveland we hosted a live-poll asking our volunteer leaders what ongoing learning topics would be most helpful for their teams. Based on your responses the YCP Staff designed a 5-month learning series, running December 2018 - April 2019.

The learning sessions are hosted the 2nd Wednesday of each month featuring experienced executives from YCP's network.

#1: Fundraising Best Practices (feat. Pamela Minix) - 12.12.2018

As YCP's new Director of Advancement, Pamela Minix coordinates all development-related programs and portfolio management for YCP. She represents, advances, and identifies funding for YCP’s mission on a national level. In addition, Pamela plays a critical role in training, overseeing, and implementing a relationship-based approach to fundraising at the chapter level. Pamela comes from an impressive sales background with experience in inside sales and account and channel management in the security and telecommunications industry. She has a Bachelors in Business Administration and Public Relations from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.

#2: Accountability & Delegation (feat. Mike Stefanski) - 1.9.2019: 7PM Central Time

Mike Stefanski is a multi-disciplined senior financial leader with extensive mobility and telecommunications experience. During his 27-year career at Verizon, he held key executives roles designing, supporting and implementing global strategic and operational initiatives as well as developing relationships with global financial institutions. Mike has a passion for developing people in order to build lasting value for the individual and company. His volunteer activities include mentoring young professionals, college students and high school students. Mike is a member of the YCP National Board of Directors.

#3: Improving the Member Experience (feat. Dwight Riskey) - 2.13.2019

Dwight founded Riskey Business Solutions, LLC in 2007. Prior to that, he spent 25 years at PepsiCo in a wide variety of leadership roles. Most recently he led Consumer/Customer Insights for all of PepsiCo and was responsible for identifying consumer opportunities for growth. Dwight attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and taught at several colleges and universities. Dwight is a member of the YCP National Board of Directors

#4: Team Spiritual Growth (feat. Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM) - 3.13.2019

Fr. Ken lived the life of the prodigal son for most of his young adult life and left the Catholic Church for many years. During that time he earned a business degree and worked in Advanced R&D and software testing where he helped establish a $4.5 million Internet software company. Through a series of conversions, years of struggle, study and questioning, Fr. Ken found his way from agnosticism, to non-denominational Christianity, and ultimately back to the Catholic Church. Fr. Ken joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006, was ordained in 2012, and currently serves as a Missionary, webmaster and vocation director for the Fathers of Mercy.

#5: Having Tough Conversations (feat. Jeff Schiefelbein) - 4.10.2019

Jeff Schiefelbein has worked in the deregulated energy business since 2004 and prior to 5 he served as the Vice President of Sales at First Choice Power (FCP). Jeff has a proven track record of leadership and innovation through his extensive experience in sales, company start-up, technology development, personal coaching, and strategic management. Jeff serves as the Board Chairman for In My Shoes and National Board Chairman for the Young Catholic Professionals.
