We are extremely proud of Yorktown High School’s wrestling team, which has won its first league title in a decade.
Earlier this season, the team also competed in the Final Four of the Section One Dual Meet Tournament — a first for a program that has developed many talented wrestlers over the years.
The team is led by its captains: senior Jason Glicksman, junior Ronan Forde, junior Nick Bucello, and junior Joe Tornambe, who was an All-State wrestler a year ago.
The Huskers are coached by Dr. Jimmy Kaishian, who is a 2013 graduate of Yorktown High School. He described his wrestlers as “super enthusiastic. They’re begging me to wrestle. They’re working really hard, and they put in a lot of work in the offseason.”
When people watch his team, Coach Kaishian hopes they see “wrestlers who love wrestling. I want to make it fun. I want to make it positive.”
The team’s accomplishments are a testament to the terrific culture that Coach Kaishian and his team have built. Keep up the amazing work!
