‘The Three Little Pigs’ Reimagined: Crompond Students Showcase ESTEAM Projects

A terrific ESTEAM project recently challenged fifth-grade students in Ms. Brennan’s class to explore situations through an empathetic lens.

The Crompond students revisited the classic tale of “The Three Little Pigs” and attempted to empathize with the wolf's point of view. Some students hypothesized that the wolf was huffing and puffing due to allergies, while others suggested that the wolf might have been “hangry” due to a lack of available food options.

From there, the students identified more real-world problems that existed in the story, such as the lack of housing materials for the pigs or the negative stereotypes surrounding wolves. Collaboratively, the students developed innovative projects to address these issues.

On Monday, March 27, families were invited to Crompond to witness the students' presentations, which included a range of projects such as invention prototypes, websites, videos with QR codes, and even a podcast.

Thank you to Ms. Brennan and District Tech Specialist Amanda Burns for facilitating such a fantastic ESTEAM project!
