Yorktown High School’s Science Research program has established itself as a top contender on the global stage — and they’ve got the hardware to prove it.
Throughout the 2022-23 school year, our Science Research students competed and won at regional, national, and international science fairs. We were privileged to acknowledge and celebrate these remarkable accomplishments during a recent Board of Education meeting.
Among the award recipients was junior Eric Song, whose innovative ransomware detection and mitigation system earned him a spot at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Dallas, where he secured a remarkable second place in his category.
Science Research teacher Mr. Paul Rubeo, who proudly introduced the students and their accomplishments, shared his excitement about the program's continuous growth, noting that more than 70 students expected to join the program next school year.
