Living History at MESMS

History came alive at Mildred E. Strang Middle School on April 21!

Students in Mr. DiPasquale’s classes had the incredible opportunity to view a 1941 Jeep that was specifically produced for American troops during World War II. The Jeep was the centerpiece of an immersive presentation led by Yorktown residents Paul and Alyssa Martin, who shared their knowledge of America's involvement in the war.

The father-daughter duo showcased numerous artifacts from the era, including uniforms, helmets, ration containers, and advertisements. The students were able to examine these items and ask questions about their significance, gaining a deeper understanding of the daily lives of soldiers and civilians during wartime.

Thank you to Paul and Alyssa for sharing their passion and expertise, and to Mr. DiPasquale for organizing such a memorable learning experience for his students!
