On December 2, Mildred E. Strang Middle School was pleased to welcome members of the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, who spoke to the students about what it means to be an “upstander” rather than a bystander.
From the Hate Crimes Unit, Senior Assistant District Attorney Catalina Blanco Buitrago and a Hate Crimes Analyst spoke about the role of the DA's Office, defined a hate crime, and shared real-world scenarios about how to safely respond to difficult situations.
The engaging and informative presentations were enjoyed by students from all middle school grade levels!
