Family and Medical Leave Act

As an employer covered by the requirements of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, as amended (FMLA), whose employees are eligible for the benefits set forth in the FMLA and its regulations, the Board directs the Superintendent to establish regulations for distribution to District employees regarding their rights to child care, serious health conditions and military-related leaves under the federal law. The regulations shall be consistent with the provisions of collectively negotiated agreements, where applicable.
