Staff Co-Curricular Assignments and Allocations

At the beginning of each school year, the Building Principal of each secondary school shall provide the Superintendent or his/her designee with a recommended list of the activities which he/she would like to establish and/or maintain for the school year, along with the number of staff units for each activity. The Board shall determine annually the aggregate number of units and the allocation of those units to specific activities. Any deviation from the initial units and allocations must be approved by the Board. One unit is equivalent to ten hours of work.

Teachers receiving extra pay shall be paid at the end of the school year. Those who wish to receive half payment at mid-year may make arrangements for such provided they notify their building administrator by December 20th. Those teachers who sponsor an activity which is seasonal and which will be completed by the end of the first semester, will be paid in full at the end of the semester following the completion of their work provided they notify their building administrator by December 20th.

Adjustments in the extra pay package during the school year, within the Board approved allocation, may be made with the approval of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.

Co-curricular duties for which a staff member is receiving a stipend may not be conducted within their contractual work day.
