No money, other than petty cash, shall be kept in any school building overnight, except in safes provided for safekeeping of valuables. The Superintendent or designee shall inform all employees of this requirement and enforce this policy.
School employees are held personally responsible for funds which they collect during the course of their assigned duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, fundraising. Monies collected must be delivered to the Business Office by the next business day and deposited in the bank as soon as possible.
A bond, in an amount to be fixed and approved by the Board, is to be provided for the District Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Claims Auditor, District Clerk, the Purchasing Agent, and Assistant Superintendent for Business. This approval should be endorsed on the bond or by a certificate of the District Clerk. These bonds will be filed in the office of the District Clerk. In lieu of such bond, the District may use a blanket bond to cover such individuals as well as all other school employees, officials, and members of the Board.
