Final and/or Regents examinations will be administered in all courses, except as approved by the Principal. All students enrolled in a course in a Regents-level course in which a Regents examination is given will be required to take that examination unless excused by the Principal and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, due to extraordinary circumstances. The Regents or final examination mark will serve as a final test for the course and will represent 15% of the student's grade, unless determined otherwise by the Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
If a student does not appear for a final exam/Regents exam, and the failure to appear is not due to illness or excused by the Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, a notation of "absent" is recorded and a "0" is averaged as the final exam grade.
