School Calendar

The school calendar for the ensuing year will be developed by the Superintendent. The number of days scheduled for students will meet or exceed the requirements of State law. The final decision concerning the calendar is made by the Board in the spring of each year.

School Year

The Superintendent will develop and present to the Board school year schedules that fulfill state requirements and comply with the collective bargaining agreement(s) currently in effect within the District.

School Day

The Superintendent shall arrange and schedule the school day, including its length for District students, based on such factors as building assignments and total student population. The school day shall include at least the minimum hours of instruction required by the regulations of the Commissioner of Education. Teachers will be available to perform professional duties such as assisting students and attending professional meetings either before or after the school day, in accordance with collective bargaining agreement(s).
