The Board has the power to fill any vacancy which may occur on the Board by a majority vote of the Board members. A Board vacancy may occur by reason of death, resignation, removal from office, moving out of the District, or refusal to serve. The Board may fill a vacancy either by calling a special election or by appointment within 90 days of the resignation.

The Board has the power to fill any vacancy by a majority vote of the entire Board. The person so appointed in the place of any such member of the Board shall hold his/her office until the next annual election of Board members. The unexpired term of the office will then be filled by election.
