Public Concerns

Concerns and grievances are best handled and resolved as close to their origin as possible and the staff should be given every opportunity to consider issues and attempt to resolve problems prior to Board involvement. Therefore, the proper channeling of concerns will be as follows:

Exceptions will be made only when concerns relate to Board action or Board operations. In addition, the Board will not act on concerns that have not been addressed at the appropriate level.

Concerns about Board policies should be directed to the Superintendent. The Superintendent will review any concern and conduct whatever study or investigation they deem appropriate.

All matters referred to the Superintendent and/or the Board should be in writing signed by the concerned individual. Concerns registered directly to the Board as a whole or to an individual Board member will be referred to the Superintendent for investigation, report, and/or resolution.
